AS Monaco: Three league defeats in a row ( Recent Form: L W L L L )

With little pleasure Roberto Moreno will look back on his first four league games as a trainer of AS Monaco. After a 3-3 draw visiting PSG, two large home defeats were suffered and last weekend a visit to low-flyer Nîmes Olympique was lost in a match in which the Monegasken already saw red twice in the first half. With the third consecutive defeat in the Ligue 1, the Monegasken have dropped to a disappointing thirteenth place with only 29 points from 22 games and the Moreno team must win on Tuesday-evening to stay in the race for a European ticket. As mentioned, the Monegasken took two red cards against Nîmes Olympique and they were both unnecessary. After a little more than half an hour of playing, Tiemoué Bakayoko received a red card for an oil-stupid tackle and that was the start of the misery for the Moreno team. Gelson Martins clearly disagreed with the red card for his teammate and after giving a push to the referee, the offside player also got a red card, after which he sold the referee a push. The Portuguese attacker now seems to fear a long-term suspension of at least eight games, but Martins could just as well be suspended until the end of the season.

Angers: Four unbeaten away games with three wins ( Recent Form: D W D D L )

Angers took the lead early in the Stade Raymond-Kopa against Stade Reims by a hit by Rachid Alioui, but then the Stéphane Moulin team completely relinquished the game. In the final phase of the first half, Pierrick Capelle caused a penalty that Ludovic Butelle was unable to turn and in the second half the goalkeeper was allowed to fish the ball three times from the net. Because les Scoïstes themselves were no longer able to score, they eventually lost 4-1, leaving the team of Moulin waiting five home games in a row for a victory and now has dropped to the shared tenth place, with only one point ahead of AS Monaco . Especially in the defensive sense, the Scoists have been disappointing in recent weeks. A week and a half ago, the zero was kept on a visit to Olympique Marseille, but this was mainly due to the ineffectiveness of the people of Marseilles. In the last two hundred and ten minutes against clubs from the Ligue 1, no fewer than nine hits were collected, more than any other team in the Ligue 1. In terms of home form, the Moulin team has even been performing at the level of a relegation candidate in the last few weeks, as only the last-team Toulouse won less points in the last four home games.

After all, the Monegasks have been designated by bookmakers as favorites for this competition, but given the moderate home form of the Moreno team I am not going to risk the 1x2 bets. I do see value on goals in this match; ten of the eleven AS Monaco home games in the Ligue 1 ended this season with three or more goals and the away games of Angers also had more than not at least three goals.
