Newcastle United: Ended 2019 with two defeats ( Recent Form: W L W L L )

Newcastle United was unable to close the 2019 calendar year with a good feeling. Of the last four games in 2019, Newcastle United lost no fewer than three. Burnley (1-0), Manchester United (4-1) and Everton (1-2) were all too strong for Bruce and his team in the past two and a half weeks. Only the home match against Crystal Palace (1-0) went with a bit of luck to Newcastle United, this by a goal in the final phase of Miguel Almirón. Newcastle United starts 2020 with a score of 25 after twenty games. The Magpies are in eleventh place in the Premier League and cannot be dissatisfied with that. The Newcastle United supporters had expected Bruce to perform worse than its predecessor Rafael Benítez, but for now the supporters have no reason to complain about Bruce's performance with Newcastle United. What the fans will have something to complain about is the busy program of Newcastle United in the last few weeks, which in turn ensures that many players of Newcastle United suffer from aches and pains. For example, there are question marks behind the names of six players, with Joelinton and Fabian Schar playing against Leicester City being extremely questionable at the time of writing.

Leicester City: Doesn't seem upset ( Recent Form: D D L L W )

After defeats against Manchester City (3-1) and Liverpool (0-4), Leicester City showed resilience last weekend by turning the game against West Ham United into a 1-2 victory. The Foxes took the lead in the first half through a goal from Kelechi Iheanacho, but they also had to take the equalizer not much later. Demarai Gray finally gave Leicester City the three points in East London, which means that Leicester City remains Liverpool's "main challenger". The gap, on the other hand, is considerable and at Leicester City the focus is really only on Champions League qualification. Against West Ham United, Jamie Vardy, Premier League scorer, did not play at Leicester City. The 32-year-old striker from Sheffield was present at the birth of his daughter, but on New Year's Day Vardy is of course again at Leicester. Vardy scored twice in the duel with Newcastle United earlier in the season, the game at King Power Stadium ended in a 5-0 win for The Foxes at the end of September. Leicester City is probably not going to get that easy on New Year's Day.

After all, Leicester are still doing relatively well against weaker teams to accumulate points, and Newcastle will be very difficult to become an exception. With the form from the start of the season, having defeated the opponent 5-0 in the first leg, I believe Leicester will continue to have the victory in the confrontation with Newcastle here.
