While the Brasileiro stopped during the Copa America, Bahia got stronger bringing center back Juninho and midfielder Guerra. Both players came on a loan from Palmeiras and are ready to play.

Santos have new faces, too, with center forward Uribe joining the team. But their biggest change is the departure of striker Rodrygo, who went away for Real Madrid. Midfielder Jean Lucas also moved overseas, being transferred to Lyon.

Bahia have been perfect in their home matches in the Brasileiro so far this year, which makes them a pleasant surprise – they are placed 8th, only one point below the top 6 – and fun to watch with an attack that scored eight goals in the four matches they hosted (one of the matches took place on neutral ground). Their defensive numbers are in need of improvement, though, as they conceded in two of those matches and have the worst defense in the top half of the table, having conceded 11 times in the first nine league matches.

Santos beat Corinthians in their final game before the Copa America break. That win kept them following the leaders closely – they are placed second and five points behind Palmeiras – and even though they are fighting at the top they also need improvement, especially when playing away – Santos have two wins, one massive loss and one goalless draw as visitors (one of the matches took place on neutral ground) – but that doesn’t mean they haven’t been fun to watch too.

In fact, both sides are so offensive that it might make this the most exciting match of the round, but Santos coach’s visiting tactics needs a few adjustments and they should struggle against one of the strongest hosts in the league. That way, I expect Bahia to win this one.

Bahia already scored 11 times in the league and Santos have one goal more than them and now that they finally have a center forward as their coach requested, these numbers might improve, so we should see both sides scoring here and probably even more than once.

Whoever hosted their last five encounters won those matches and in only one of them the team playing as visitors managed to score.
